Job Description

The client is looking for a Back Office IN Engineer to work in The Kingdom Of Saudi Arabia.

 

Job Summary:

The IN (Intelligent Network) Engineer is responsible for the troubleshooting, configuration, traffic measurement and performance monitoring of the IN network. This role involves responding to network and equipment issues escalated by the surveillance function, identifying and resolving network problems, detecting deficiencies and proactively anticipating potential degradations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve service and network issues in accordance with agreed timelines and quality standards.
  • Perform configuration tasks and monitor traffic and performance of IN nodes.
  • Identify, escalate and follow up on system problems to relevant system support units.
  • Maintain control over software/hardware status and system configurations.
  • Ensure any changes to the network, methods, processes or procedures are properly implemented and documented.
  • Create and improve departmental procedures and routines.
  • Attend technical meetings representing IN team activities.
  • Maintain high network performance standards by swift problem resolution and effective monitoring of performance indicators.

 

Duties and Activities:

  • Perform 2nd Level Restoration for network issues.
  • Handle Trouble Reports and Change Requests.
  • Create and update preventive maintenance routines.
  • Analyse performance data and prepare reports.
  • Implement software, hardware and configuration data changes.
  • Design and configure tariffs, service classes and related elements.
  • Investigate and resolve network disturbances.

 

Required Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of GSM/WCDMA technologies.
  • Proficiency in Linux OS and system administration.
  • Experience in Oracle Database Administration.
  • Unix Shell scripting and basic programming skills.
  • Solid IP networking knowledge.
  • Hands-on experience with system integration and Linux hardware.

Technical Competencies:

  • In-depth knowledge of Charging System Nodes: SDP, CCN, AIR, VS, ECMS, OCC, IVR and NgCRS.
  • Expertise in tariff management, RMA handling and IN business configurations.
  • VMware proficiency, including vSphere, vCenter, vSAN and ESXi (6.x).
  • Experience with HP 3PAR storage systems and HP C7000 blade architecture.
  • Knowledge in SAN switch configuration and network virtualization.
  • Skilled in VM deployment and system upgrades on virtual platforms.
  • Familiarity with SUF Playlist automation and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Strong grasp of control networks, hardware/software troubleshooting and performance reporting.
  • Basic understanding of telecom network elements like MSC, GMSC, STP, HLR and their integration.
  • Knowledge in OSS, GPRS and network implementation processes.
  • Experience in network performance analysis and emergency handling within GSM networks.
