Wireless Network Planning Engineer

Job Description
The client is looking for a Wireless Network Planning Engineer to work a 3 month rolling contract based in South Africa (Johannesburg).
Responsibility:
- Lead 2G/3G/4G/5G wireless network planning (coverage, capacity, frequency, parameters) to meet business and performance needs.
- Conduct on-site surveys, collect geographic/user/network data to support planning solutions.
- Support project implementation, resolve technical issues, and ensure network construction quality.
- Track network indicators, optimize planning based on user feedback and business trends to improve service quality.
- Compile standardized network planning reports, technical solutions and project summaries.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- 3 years of relevant experience, independently led 2G/3G/4G/5G planning projects (complex scenarios)?led provincial-level projects, with ability to manage teams and grasp tech trends.
- Proficient in 2G/3G/4G/5G (GSM/UMTS/LTE/NR) principles, protocol stacks and network architecture.
- Master core planning skills (coverage/capacity estimation, site selection, frequency/PCI/neighbor cell planning).
- Strong data analysis skills to identify network issues and propose optimization solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills for complex environments (urban/mountain/sea) and special needs (high-speed rail/venues).
- Good communication skills and teamwork spirit to collaborate with clients and teams.
- Proficient in at least one of the following tools such as Atoll/Planet/CNP for simulation modeling and analysis.
- Familiarity with Python/Macro programming is preferred (for efficient data processing).
