Tools Engineer

Job Summary:
The Tools Engineer will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, administration, and support of servers, virtualization platforms, and associated tools within the organization. This role ensures optimal system performance, security compliance, and integration of infrastructure with internal tools, while supporting automation and DevOps practices.

Key Responsibilities.

• Implementing HP, DELL servers from ordering to hosting into STC Data Center, performing complete STC processes for end-to-end servers hosting.
• Install, upgrade, and configure new Linux RedHat, Ubuntu, Windows Servers, and releases.
• Installing, configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Servers with Operating Systems Red Hat 8/9, Windows 2022 std, application software and network connectivities.
• Integrating servers with in-house tools and STC tools.
• Build, deploy, and support the systems’ performance.
• Installing, Configuring and Upgrading Virtualized platforms Red Hat Inc. KVM and VMware Virtualization 6.x & 7.x.
• Migrating RedHat Servers from 7 to 8 to 9.x.
• Implementing and managing Red Hat KVM virtualization platforms.
• Installing, Configuring, and managing MicroStrategy major version upgrade from 10.x to 11.x.
• Overall Administration of Red Hat, Upgrade, Vulnerability patching, monitoring performances and troubleshooting of Servers.
• Performing configuration of NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) Cybersecurity CSF profile controls on production systems. Mitigating the scanned Critical, High, Medium and Low vulnerabilities across the systems. Implementing security standard roles based on baseline assessment.
• Transitioned to DevOps technology by implementing and managing, troubleshooting Dockers and Container clusters in the environment. Working with Container Orchestration technology like Docker Swarm to manage and control the dockers.
• Providing support as local administrator to Cognitive CS-W tool with role approvals, data upload, local troubleshooting and hardware replacement by ordering and replacing.
• Automating backups of servers with Red Hat REAR and VM backups with VEEAM, managing SAN and NAS devices.
• Implementing, managing and troubleshooting PHP, Python, Python Libraries, Modules, MariaDB 10.x, Tomcat Servers 9.x, Apache HTTPD, MySQL, and PHP (LAMP) web server configuration.
• Installing and configuring databases (MySQL, MariaDB, etc.), tuning databases, implementing operating system parameters for enhancing performances.
• Liaising with sourcing team for ordering hardware parts, HW upgrades of the servers, and implementing the HW upgrades and faulty parts.
