Job Description
The client is looking for a Telecommunication Contract Manager to work a 12 month rolling contract based in South Africa (Johannesburg).
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead contract management and legal support for business in the MEA region, covering a range of project contracts, ensuring consistency and effective risk control across projects.
- Provide legal and contractual support throughout the full project lifecycle, including client interface, contract negotiations and control of key contractual terms.
- Work closely with clients to support business execution and successful project delivery under company strategy and management decisions.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (marketing, commercial, engineering, legal. Etc) to ensure compliance and consistency in contract execution and project delivery.
Qualifications:
- Admitted attorney in South Africa with a valid practicing qualification.
- 5+ years of experience in contract management and commercial/project legal support, with the ability to independently participate in client-facing contract negotiations.
- Proven experience in client-facing legal and commercial negotiations, with the ability to balance risk management and business needs.
- Experience with project-based or turnkey contracts in the telecommunications sector is preferred, particularly with exposure to MTN Group contracts.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, able to work effectively with commercial, technical, finance and Group teams.
- Strong independent judgement, sense of ownership and ability to perform in a fast-paced, multi-project environment.
