Job Description
The client is looking for a Senior Service Engineer VAS/CLOUD to work in The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Overall Purpose:
The Senior Service Engineer ensures the quality of service, performance monitoring, and operational excellence of VAS/Cloud services, while managing day-to-day activities within Managed Services.
Responsibilities:
The Senior Service Engineer is responsible for:
- Ensuring overall Quality of Service, performance data, SLA, and KPIs in the Operations Centre.
- Management of Cloud Infrastructure and NFVIs hosted on the cloud.
- Real-time monitoring of service and network quality and capacity; analyzing and reporting on performance.
- Initiating service and network improvements and optimization activities.
- Performing temporary service and network reconfigurations if performance is not satisfactory.
- Driving tool development for delivery and management of new services.
- Analyzing failure trends and identifying chronic failures.
- Providing performance data and determining the impact of service issues on performance.
- Ensuring optimum utilization of existing networks.
- Recommending service redesigns to enhance performance and capacity.
- Supporting hardware-related activities and troubleshooting/replacing hardware such as switches, servers, cables, etc.
Main Activities:
- Set up performance measurements and quality thresholds using available tools.
- Compile and analyze performance data in real time and via trend analysis.
- Ensure management tools support operational processes effectively.
- Ensure ongoing service and network performance meets defined criteria.
- Notify stakeholders of performance degradation and suggest reconfigurations.
- Recommend reconfigurations based on service requirements.
- Liaise with customer relations management and service/network planning teams for extensions and changes.
- Conduct performance failure trend analysis to identify chronic issues.
- Lead the team as a technical authority and expert.
- Conduct system acceptance tests and raise snags.

General Competence:
- Fluent in written and spoken English (Arabic is a plus).
- Ability to work independently and in a team.

- Focused on service and network performance.
- Able to work under tight deadlines.
Technical Competence:
- Hands-on experience with Cloud solutions, NFVi, SDI, SDN, and orchestrators.
- Hands-on experience or strong knowledge of WRMS.
- Knowledge of VAS systems, including standards and protocols such as SMS and Bulk Messaging.
- Strong understanding of IP networks.
- Proficient in Linux systems administration, operations, and maintenance.
- Experience with cloud systems and environments such as OpenStack Cloud and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of Grafana, Shell scripting, and automation tools.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in Operations and Maintenance.
- Experience as a Technical Lead.
- Experience within Datacom and Telecom networks.
