Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior RAN Optimization Engineer to lead network optimization activities and deliver high-quality optimization services to customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing, designing, and implementing end-to-end Radio Access Network (RAN) optimization solutions that align with customer requirements and business objectives.
This role requires extensive experience in 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G network optimization, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure network performance, service quality, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end optimization activities for 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G Radio Access Networks.
- Manage and mentor optimization teams, ensuring timely delivery of project objectives and customer commitments.
- Drive network evolution and optimization initiatives, including 5G NSA/SA, packet core integration, and transport network enhancements.
- Develop, monitor, and optimize network performance KPIs with a strong focus on customer experience, mobile broadband (MBB), IoT, and Machine-to-Machine (M2M) services.
- Analyze network performance trends, identify areas for improvement, and implement optimization strategies.
- Perform and lead complex network performance investigations, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Evaluate new network features and technologies, taking ownership of feature validation and performance assessment.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, proposals, and deliver customer-facing technical presentations.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure service quality, SLA compliance, and successful project delivery.
- Contribute to technical documentation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop optimization strategies for Voice over LTE (VoLTE) and other advanced mobile technologies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in telecommunications engineering, with at least 3 years in customer-facing roles.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience leading technical or optimization teams.
- Extensive hands-on experience in Radio Access Network (RAN) planning, design, optimization, and performance management across 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G technologies.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end 5G Standalone (SA) and Non-Standalone (NSA) architectures, including RAN, radio, and transport networks.
- Experience working in multi-vendor network environments is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working with Tier 1 telecom operators in network planning, design, optimization, and performance improvement.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Arabic language proficiency is an advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of IoT, Open RAN (O-RAN), Cloud RAN, 5G technologies, and the application of Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in network design and optimization.
- Experience delivering managed services within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) telecom market.
- Transferable Iqama is an advantage.
