Job Description

The client is looking for a Senior Core Network Services Engineer (MNS Core) to work in Saudi Arabia.

Role Overview:

The Senior Core Network Services Engineer is responsible for troubleshooting, configuring, maintaining, and improving the performance of core network systems. The role also involves automation of network operations using AI and ML technologies to enhance efficiency and reliability.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide advanced operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting support for Core and IMS network nodes, including CSCF, MTAS, SBC, IP Works, NELS, IP-STP, MSS/MSC, MGW, and core backbone switches.
  • Support International and National Transit Nodes, including Converged Transit Controllers (CTC) and Roaming Management Systems (RMS).
  • Monitor, analyse, and report on network performance KPIs.
  • Handle system issues in accordance with agreed SLAs, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Troubleshoot international roaming issues and coordinate with roaming partners to resolve IR complaints.
  • Ensure high network availability by proactively identifying and resolving degradations and performance risks.
  • Utilize automation techniques and scripting (Shell, VB, SQL, Python – preferred) to streamline network activities.
  • Perform performance analysis using SAP BI and other relevant tools.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of processes, procedures, and operational routines within the team.

Technical Competencies:

  • Advanced Operations & Maintenance experience within IMS, WCDMA, and GSM core networks.
  • Strong troubleshooting expertise for traffic-related issues across IMS, core switching, signalling, and roaming platforms.
  • Advanced understanding of signalling protocols, including SS7/IP, GCP, CAP, MAP, INAP, SCCP, ISUP, BICC, SIP, Diameter, SGsAP, and ATM.
  • Excellent knowledge of network topology, traffic handling, and performance characteristics.
  • Proficient in protocol tracing and analysis using industry-standard analysers.
  • Strong experience in KPI monitoring and optimization (e.g., LU, ASR, Paging, Handover).
  • Experience with software tracing, scripting, and automation is an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of data and signalling configurations, routing, node integration, and triggering tables.
  • Experience using network management and monitoring tools.
  • Ability to interpret network design documents and support accurate implementation of change requests.
  • Experience in integrating new network nodes, including access and value-added service nodes.
  • HLR data handling experience, including subscriber profile management and redundancy.
  • Strong skills in hardware and software upgrades, emergency handling, and fault recovery.
  • Experience with remote access tools and platforms such as MO-Shell, SFTP, and Telnet.
