Senior AI Architect

The client is looking for a Senior AI Architect to work a 6 month contract in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Role Summary:

The client is seeking a highly skilled Senior AI Architect to lead the architecture of enterprise-grade AI solutions on Microsoft Azure, supporting business and clinical objectives such as document-intelligence automation, underwriting analytics, GenAI-powered decision support and conversational agents. This role demands strong expertise in Azure AI services, a deep understanding of UAE regulatory frameworks (e.g., ADHICS, DOH, HIPAA-equivalent) and the ability to translate complex goals into secure, scalable and cost-effective AI system designs. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams and stakeholders to ensure successful delivery across Dev, UAT, Pre-Prod, Prod and DR environments within an Azure Landing Zone.

What You’ll Do:

• Define and own the target-state AI architecture leveraging Azure AI Studio, Azure OpenAI, Document Intelligence, AI Search, Azure Machine Learning and more.
• Create high-fidelity system diagrams, data flows, threat models and cost projections.
• Establish and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps.
• Ensure scalable deployment to AKS or Azure Container Apps.
• Champion infrastructure-as-code using Bicep or Terraform with Azure Landing Zone accelerators.
• Embed RBAC, encryption, key vault rotation, network isolation and Purview data catalogues.
• Implement Responsible AI guardrails: prompt logging, PHI redaction, safety filters and model monitoring.
• Produce architectural runbooks for ADHICS audits.
• Work with Product, Data, InfoSec and Clinical SMEs to align architecture with KPIs (e.g., faster claim intake, higher auto-authorization).
• Present to CTOs, external auditors and analysts (e.g., Gartner).
• Evaluate and prototype emerging services (Real-Time Intelligence, Confidential VMs, Vector DBs).
• Mentor data scientists and ML engineers in distributed model training, optimization and prompt engineering.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience:
  • 8+ years in cloud solution architecture.
  • 3+ years focused on Azure AI/Data services.
  • Led production deployment of at least one GenAI or document-intelligence platform at enterprise scale (10k+ daily transactions).
• Technical Proficiency:
  • Deep knowledge of Azure OpenAI, Document Intelligence, AML, AI Search, Event Grid/Service Bus, Synapse, AKS/ACA, Key Vault, and App Gateway/WAF.
  • Skilled in Python, REST APIs, and Infrastructure as Code (Bicep or Terraform).
  • Familiarity with vector databases (Azure AI Search, Cosmos DB for PostgreSQL), LangChain, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
• Certifications:
  • Azure Solutions Architect Expert (required).
  • One or more of: Azure AI Engineer Associate, Azure Security Engineer, TOGAF (preferred).
• Soft Skills:
  • Strong consultative approach and crisp communication.
  • Proven experience interfacing with C-suite and engineering stakeholders.
  • Ability to lead architecture boards and evaluate third-party vendors.

Education: 

• BSc in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field (Master’s preferred).
