The Scrum Master is responsible for facilitating Agile delivery processes, coaching cross-functional teams on Agile principles and best practices, removing delivery impediments, and enabling the successful delivery of high-quality digital products and technology solutions.

This role serves as a servant leader, fostering collaboration, continuous improvement, and Agile maturity while supporting Product Owners and delivery teams in achieving business objectives. The Scrum Master ensures teams operate effectively within Agile frameworks and organisational governance standards to deliver value efficiently and consistently.

Key Responsibilities

Agile Delivery & Facilitation

• Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, Sprint Retrospectives, and Backlog Refinement sessions.
• Ensure Agile ceremonies are effective, productive, and outcome-focused.
• Promote Agile values, principles, and best practices across delivery teams.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.

Team Coaching & Leadership

• Coach Scrum Teams, Product Owners, and stakeholders on Agile methodologies and servant leadership principles.
• Support teams in becoming self-organising, cross-functional, and high-performing.
• Mentor team members and junior Scrum Masters to improve Agile maturity.
• Encourage continuous learning and the adoption of Agile best practices.

Delivery Management

• Identify, manage, and remove impediments impacting team productivity and delivery.
• Support risk identification, issue resolution, and dependency management across teams.
• Coordinate with Product Owners and stakeholders to ensure a well-prioritised, refined, and delivery-ready product backlog.
• Facilitate collaboration between business, technology, architecture, and delivery teams.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting

• Track Agile performance metrics, including:
  • Sprint Velocity
  • Burndown and Burnup Charts
  • Cycle Time
  • Lead Time
  • Sprint Predictability
• Report delivery progress, team performance, and risks to relevant stakeholders.
• Use delivery metrics to identify opportunities for process improvement and increased team effectiveness.

Agile Governance & Continuous Improvement

• Ensure delivery teams adhere to organisational Agile standards, governance, and delivery frameworks.
• Champion Agile transformation initiatives and continuous improvement across the organisation.
• Facilitate retrospectives and drive implementation of agreed improvement actions.
• Promote knowledge sharing and Agile communities of practice where applicable.

Required Skills & Experience

Essential

• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Scrum Master in technology, digital transformation, software development, financial services, or enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of Agile delivery methodologies, including:
  • Scrum
  • Kanban
  • Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) (advantageous)
• Proven experience facilitating Agile ceremonies and coaching cross-functional teams.
• Experience managing delivery risks, dependencies, and impediments.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Excellent facilitation, coaching, mentoring, and conflict-resolution abilities.

Preferred

Experience working with:

Qualifications

Essential

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline.
