Radio Field Engineer
Job Description
The client is looking for a Radio Field Engineer to work 3 month rolling contracts based in South London.
Primary Work Area: Kent, South London, and the eastern side of Sussex.
Role Overview:
The Field Engineer / Field Operative will be responsible for performing a range of field-based activities including reactive and proactive maintenance, installation, commissioning, and support of multi-customer, multi-technology network infrastructure. The role requires flexibility, strong safety awareness, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to achieve customer SLAs and business objectives.
Experience:
Technical Competencies:
- Understanding of General Telecoms Systems:
- AC/DC Power Systems (single phase and three phase)
- Rectification and power distribution systems
- Tools and safety equipment to fault find, test and maintain such systems
- Radio Frequency(RF) Transmission and Receiver systems employed in mobile communication equipment including:
- Spectrum allocation, Air interface
- Analogue to Digital conversion, Modulation techniques
- GSM, UMTS and LTE fundamentals
- Radio Access Network and Core Network architecture
- Cellular Network Fundamentals. Mobility Management. Cell Planning
- O&M on BTS/RAN + Microwave Radio experience
- Working at heights/Climber
- Main Vendor Equipment: Huawei BTS, Ericsson Radio System, Nokia Airscale. Microwave is primarily Siae
Mandatory Certifications and Requirements:
- MATS Climber
- Rooftop Safety & Access
- First Aid
- RF Awareness
- Climbers Medical.
Please note: This position will be inside IR35.
