PS Core Expert

The client is looking for a PS Core Expert to work in Saudi Arabia.

Job description:

• Handling of L2 operations & optimization.
• Handle tasks, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to SLAs and KPIs.
• Provide technical guidance and escalation support for complex PS Core issues.
• Oversee monitoring, health checks, and preventive maintenance of:
  • 4G EPC nodes: MME, SGW, PGW, PCRF, HSS
  • 5G Core nodes: AMF, SMF, UPF, PCF, UDM, NRF, NSSF
• Ensure availability and stability of data services including LTE, 5G NSA/SA, VoLTE, VoNR, and interworking with IMS and transport layers.
• Validate and review configuration changes, software upgrades, and hardware expansions.
• Lead critical incident resolution, ensuring minimal impact on subscriber services.
• Perform and review root cause analysis (RCA) for major issues or outages.
• Manage escalations with vendors (Ericsson, Huawei, etc.) and internal cross-functional teams.
• Ensure timely ticket closure and proper documentation of incidents.
• Analyze performance KPIs (e.g., attach success rate, bearer setup time, throughput, session drops).
• Identify and mitigate bottlenecks, congestion points, and coverage/capacity issues.
• Recommend optimizations to enhance service quality and system efficiency.
• Ensure accurate documentation of configurations, changes, SOPs, RCA reports, and network topologies.
• Generate and review daily, weekly, and monthly health reports and team performance reports.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, audit requirements, and security policies (e.g., lawful intercept, data protection).
• Drive resolution of high-impact incidents and outages in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Plan and approve configuration changes, upgrades, and capacity expansions.
• Ensure all change activities are well-documented, tested, and rolled out within maintenance windows.
• Recommend innovative ideas and, where possible, automated (Ansible/Shell/Python) approaches for system administration tasks.
• Collaborate with security and systems engineering teams to align network solutions with business needs.

Education & Professional Qualification:

• Degree(s)/Major(s): Master’s / Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Electrical, Telecom, or Computer Engineering.

Experience:

• At least 8+ years of PS Core Network operations experience in a production environment in an SME capacity.
