Job Description
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain Unix/Linux servers, including OpenStack-based private cloud environments.
- Manage and apply operating system patches and updates.
- Perform daily system monitoring to verify the integrity and availability of hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes.
- Review system and application logs and verify the successful completion of scheduled jobs.
- Troubleshoot day-to-day system issues to ensure system stability, availability, and optimal performance.
- Perform regular security monitoring to identify and mitigate potential security threats and intrusions.
- Create, modify, and delete user accounts in accordance with operational requirements.
- Diagnose, repair, and recover from hardware and software failures, coordinating with relevant stakeholders as required.
- Apply operating system and hardware patches, upgrades, and updates on a regular basis.
- Upgrade and maintain administrative tools and utilities, and configure or deploy new services when required.
- Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization activities.
- Configure and manage CPU, memory, storage, and disk partitioning to ensure efficient resource utilization.
- Develop, maintain, and update installation, configuration, and operational procedures (MOPs).
- Utilize and support automation tools and scripting technologies, including Ansible, Python, and Bash.
- Recommend innovative solutions and implement automated approaches wherever possible to improve system administration efficiency and operational effectiveness.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to infrastructure management, automation, and system reliability.
Skills & Requirements
- Strong experience with Unix/Linux server administration.
- Hands-on experience with OpenStack-based private cloud environments.
- Knowledge of operating system patching, upgrades, and system maintenance.
- Experience with Ansible, Python, Bash, and Shell scripting.
- Understanding of system monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity management.
- Familiarity with security monitoring and system hardening best practices.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to create and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
