Packet Core Expert & Cloud Automation Expert

The client is looking for a Packet Core Expert & Cloud Automation Expert to work a 3 month rolling contract based in the United Kingdom (Remote Working is considered).

Summary:

• You shall provide advisory services, as set out in this SOW, to assist in evolving Life Cycle Management (LCM) automation capabilities for UK CSP’s Cloud Native Core Network and ANFs.
• UK CSP has already developed a comprehensive list of use cases, LCM automation requirements and overall architecture involving CNF LCM, CaaS LCM and Infrastructure LCM.
• You shall prepare a HLD document to be treated as a common baseline document for all the stakeholders within UK CSP e.g., Telco Cloud automation team, Infrastructure team and CNF LCM team etc.
• You shall develop an automation design in alignment with the architecture developed by UK CSP.
• You must be willing to travel to customer office in London at short notice.

Tasks:

• Understand current automation architecture and challenges with respect to requirements/use cases/organization.
• Understand current toolset available at UK CSP for overall LCM automation and orchestration.
• Consolidate requirements, use cases and targeted architecture in one document for traceability with design.
• Prepare multi-vendor HLD for LCM automation and orchestration according to the available requirements, use cases, architecture, automation tools and Third Party products and solutions for CNFs/ANFs, CaaS and Infrastructure.

• The HLD will include the following topics:

• Periodic executive readout/presentations.

Automation Lead Designer Profile:

• Senior design expert in automation requirements, use cases & architecture for cloud native core.
• Strong 4G/5G Core knowledge is required, preferably around You Core.
• Proficient in overall Core network LCM automation design across Cloud Infra, CaaS, GitOps concepts, orchestration tools, CM automation and test automation for CNF and ANF (Appliance Network Function).
• Strong experience in designing e2e automation workflows for 4G/5G Core CNF and ANF LCM use cases like deployment, upgrade & rollback in detail, specifying every step e.g. pre-checks, post checks, configurations, test execution etc.
• Strong experience in designing data model for CNF/ANF deployment and upgrades including day0/day1 configurations.
• Good experience in e2e architecture and design for CNF/ANF life cycle automation, identifying building blocks including interface specifications (API definitions).
• Good understanding of opens source based tools prevalent in the industry used for Core LCM automation (Gitlab/GitHub), GitOps (ArgoCD/FluxCD), Ansible, Robot framework, python scripts etc.
• Good understanding of cloud native concepts and experience with RHOCP/AWS EKS based cloud native deployments is desirable.
