The client is looking for an Oracle Database Administrator to work in Saudi Arabia.
About this opportunity:
The Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) is expected to maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of efficiency, availability, and security. Basic telecommunication knowledge will be considered an advantage.
What you will do:
The Oracle DBA will manage and maintain Oracle databases to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability. Key responsibilities include:
- Installing & configuring Oracle software and databases
- Performance tuning to optimize queries and system efficiency
- Backup & recovery to safeguard data and handle potential losses
- Security management by controlling user access and applying updates
- Monitoring & maintenance using tools to track health and manage space
- Data migration & upgrades for smooth transitions to new systems
- Troubleshooting to resolve database issues promptly
- Support & documentation for smooth operations and knowledge sharing
You will bring:
- Education: BSc degree in Computer Science, Telecommunication Engineering, or equivalent
- Work experience in telecom networks
- Proven working experience as a Database Administrator with EXADATA and Oracle RAC 11g/12c/19c (Administration/Upgrade/Patching)
- Hands-on experience with database standards, implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance
- Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity, and SQL
- Strong skills in maintaining database servers and processes, ensuring high levels of performance, availability, and security
- Oracle ASM (Administration/Upgrade/Patching)
- Disaster Recovery using Oracle Data Guard (Administration/Upgrade/Patching)
- Oracle Enterprise Monitoring 12c/13c
- Oracle Database upgrade/patching experience
- Oracle Database backup and recovery tools (exp/imp, data pump, RMAN, etc.)
- Excellent database performance tuning skills
- Experience administering Oracle DB on Unix environments
- Patch and release management (database, storage node, server, network, Oracle Exadata)
- Ability to monitor and address database machine alerts for Oracle Exadata
- Experience with new database instance creation, backup and recovery procedures, and database performance tuning
- Ability to set up alerts and threshold criteria in Enterprise Manager Cloud Control
- Experience with EMC Networker administration and operations
