Core Network Performance Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze EPC/5GC Core and IMS Core network performance and investigate root causes of performance degradation.
• Perform on-demand analysis for specific issues such as new performance degradations and customer complaints.
• Provide recommendations to customers for resolving identified issues, including parameter tuning and optimization with targeted values.
• Analyze, develop, and create new KPIs, counters, and dashboards to enhance solutions through value-added use cases addressing customer challenges.
• Assist customer teams in enriching solutions with new use cases and suggest enhancements through specific KPIs and dashboards within Big Data and virtualized environments.
• Conduct workshops and knowledge transfer sessions related to telecom technologies, new features, and solutions.
• Provide technical advice and support to customers and internal teams regarding network performance and optimization.
• Participate in customer presentations to communicate findings, analysis results, and recommendations.

Job Requirements

• Strong knowledge of Core Network architecture, particularly 5G and Packet Core.
• Experience with 5G SA and/or NSA deployments is preferred.
• Deep understanding of Core Network equipment and telecom operational tools.
• Knowledge of switching networks, signaling protocols, telecom standards, and implementations.
• End-to-end understanding of Packet Core and VoLTE call flows, deployments, feature testing, and verification.
• Experience with signaling protocols such as SCTP, MAP, TCP/IP, Diameter, GTP-C/U, PFCP, and HTTP/HTTPS.
• Understanding of mobile network interfaces including:
  
  • Iu, A, Gx, Gy, S1, S11, S5, S6a, SGS, SGi
  • N1/N2, N3/N4
  • Cx, Sh, Ro, Rx, Gm, Sxa, Sxb, etc.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of end-to-end network architecture.
• Experience with traffic simulators.
• Basic exposure to RAN and Transport networks.
• Understanding of IP routing concepts within telecom service provider environments.
