Job Description

We are looking for an experienced MS Core & Cloud / Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) Specialist to provide technical leadership, operational support, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management for DPI platforms deployed across mobile and fixed broadband (FTTH) networks.

The role will act as the primary technical owner of the DPI layer, working closely with Packet Core, IP Transport, OSS/BSS, automation, analytics, and technology partners to ensure platform stability, performance, availability, and compliance with business and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Manage the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management of Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) platforms deployed within mobile and FTTH networks.

Act as the technical owner for the DPI layer, ensuring platform stability, performance, scalability, and availability.

Work closely with Packet Core, IP Transport, OSS/BSS, automation, analytics, and external technology partners.

Handle and resolve customer and service-related technical issues.

Participate in a 24×7 on-call support rotation.

Perform detailed Root Cause Analysis (RCA) using packet captures, flow logs, session traces, application logs, and system diagnostics.

Engage technical support teams for complex platform defects and manage technical escalations when required.

Identify opportunities for network and service automation, including health checks, configuration management, log analysis, monitoring, and alerting.

Investigate complex network and platform issues and identify the underlying causes.

Improve recovery and restoration procedures to minimize service impact.

Execute emergency procedures such as rule bypass, traffic rerouting, controlled failover, and graceful platform recovery.

Provide DPI and network-domain expertise to operations and automated service management teams.

Support automation and analytics teams by providing technical expertise for network analytics and automation use cases.

Develop, maintain, and continuously improve automated service delivery and operational methodologies.

Perform proactive trend and performance analysis to identify potential failures before they impact services.

Monitor platform KPIs and proactively identify performance degradation, capacity issues, and operational risks.

Ensure that planned technical changes are implemented according to approved specifications and customer requirements, while minimizing any potential impact on service availability.

Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge repositories.

Take end-to-end responsibility for platform stability, availability, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or an equivalent technical discipline.

Strong understanding of 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G network architecture, including Packet Core networks and associated protocols.

Strong knowledge of Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) concepts, including:

Traffic and flow inspection

Application classification

Protocol identification

Signature-based detection

Traffic policy enforcement

Hands-on experience working with DPI systems, traffic management platforms, or network probing solutions in a live telecommunications environment.

Understanding of application detection methodologies, including Shallow Packet Inspection, Deep Packet Inspection, and signature-based detection.

Strong understanding of the TCP/IP protocol stack, including transport and application-layer protocols.

Proficiency with Wireshark and tcpdump for packet capture and network troubleshooting.

Ability to correlate packet-level information with platform logs, flow records, and system diagnostics to identify faults.

Good understanding of DPI-related KPIs and performance metrics, with the ability to identify the root cause of performance degradation.

Strong IP networking knowledge; relevant networking certification is an advantage.

Experience with enterprise networking technologies and platforms is preferred.

Experience in network operations automation, including configuration management, health checks, log analysis, monitoring, and alerting.

Hands-on experience with Linux server administration.

Knowledge of storage/server infrastructure is an advantage.

Experience with customer experience management, network probing, or service assurance platforms is preferred.

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to break down complex network problems into systematic diagnostic steps.

Ability to take end-to-end ownership of platform stability and proactively identify and mitigate operational risks.

Solid experience in the operation and troubleshooting of multivendor telecommunications environments.

Good understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), cloud technologies, and their application in telecom/network operations.

Strong communication, stakeholder-management, and technical documentation skills.
