Job Description

JOB PURPOSE
• Provide expert L2 administration for Windows Server environments hosting Billing and BSS application components within the enterprise BSS managed services engagement.
• Ensure availability, performance, security, and patch compliance of Windows server infrastructure.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Administer Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) environments hosting BSS application components.
• Manage Active Directory services integrated with BSS application authentication requirements.
• Perform OS-level incident resolution: service failures, BSOD analysis, performance issues, event log investigation.
• Manage Windows Server patching using SCCM/WSUS and coordinate with Change Management.
• Administer IIS for web application components running on Windows.
• Configure and manage Windows Failover Clustering (WSFC) for high-availability BSS components.
• Manage group policies, local security policies, and Windows Firewall configurations.
• Monitor server performance using Windows Performance Monitor, SCOM, or equivalent.
• Manage Windows storage: disk management, storage spaces, iSCSI initiator configuration.
• Administer PowerShell scripting for automation of administrative tasks.
• Coordinate with L1 NOC for alert acknowledgment and health check procedures.
• Support application teams for .NET, IIS, MSSQL, and Windows-based BSS component administration.
• Maintain Windows server documentation, run-books, and CMDB accuracy.
• Participate in DR and BCP tests for Windows server infrastructure.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
• 5–10 years of experience in Windows Server administration.
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator or Windows Server Hybrid Administrator preferred.
• Deep knowledge of Windows Server 2016/2019/2022: AD DS, DNS, DHCP, GPO, IIS, WSFC.
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for administration and automation.
• Experience with SCCM/WSUS for patch management.
• Knowledge of Windows performance tuning and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools: SCOM, Nagios, Zabbix, or equivalent.
• Experience with BSS or telecom application environments is a plus.
• ITIL awareness – incident and change management.
• English skills – oral and written.

TECHNICAL SKILLS – SYSTEM & PLATFORM COVERAGE
• Active Directory – Primary platform – Windows Server hosting AD Domain Services (AD DS), DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and ADFS; directory services for all BSS application authentication
• MS Exchange – Windows Server hosting Exchange Server 2016/2019 – enterprise email platform for BSS operations teams and ITSM notification routing
• CRM (MS Dynamics/MSD) – IIS and Windows Server components hosting Microsoft Dynamics CRM modules – Order Capture UI, Customer & Case Management, Knowledge Management web services
• DMS (MS SharePoint) – Windows Server hosting MS SharePoint farm – document management and knowledge base platform for BSS operations
• RHOS/Virtualization – Windows VMs running on RHOS/VMware virtualization platform – Windows OS administration within the virtualization layer
• Ansible – Windows Ansible modules for OS patching automation, GPO deployment, and configuration management via Windows Remote Management (WinRM)
• Monitoring (ENM, MITO ELK) – Windows performance counters, event logs, and application logs forwarded to MITO ELK; Windows server health alerts in monitoring stack
• ITSM (MITO) – Change management for Windows server patching, AD changes, Exchange configuration, and Windows infrastructure operations
• IAM/PAM/security tools – Windows privileged access management – LAPS, PAM tool integration, AD-integrated privileged account governance and security hardening

EDUCATION
• University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent. Microsoft certification preferred.
