Job Description

The client is looking for a Field Services Engineer to work in Saudi Arabia.

Purpose of the Role:

This role is responsible for coordinating, managing, and executing field services activities to support operations and engineering functions when on‑site interventions are required. The objective is to ensure customer services are always available and meeting Service Level Agreements (SLAs). The role will primarily carry out on‑site work on behalf of operations functions, ensuring all work is conducted in compliance with project Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute corrective maintenance tasks as required
  • Oversee site maintenance operations and report facility faults or failures that may pose health & safety risks
  • Carry out preventive maintenance, maintain the preventive maintenance checklist, and coordinate scheduling
  • Conduct site acceptance activities and manage associated checklists as per scope
  • Coordinate spare parts logistics and update the spare parts inventory system
  • Respond to and resolve hardware / system faults
  • Support cross‑team coordination to ensure smooth execution of on‑site tasks
  • Record and report work status, issues, and metrics to management

Candidate Prerequisites (Experience & Qualifications):
  • Education: Degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in a similar role (field services, telecom operations, hardware maintenance, etc.)

 

Technical Competencies:
  • Knowledge of service networks (2G / 4G / 5G)
  • Familiarity with multi‑vendor telecom equipment
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware issues (e.g. APZ21260, APG)
  • Experience with tools / platforms such as CELLO, MO‑Shell, FTP, Telnet, Linux
  • Experience with Dell and Juniper switches is a plus
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes, Wireshark, AWS / cloud environments is advantageous
  • Ability to resolve 1st & 2nd level hardware alarms for nodes such as CUDB, MSC‑BC, MGW, RNC, HSS, HLR‑FE
  • Ability to perform board replacements (SC, PL, DSG) in CUDB, BSC, MSC, MGW, RNC, SSR, etc.
  • Strong understanding of fiber optics (loop testing, fiber cleaning, power testing via VFL and power meter)
  • Understanding of redundancy test procedures and HRV processes for nodes such as BSC, MSC, HLR-FE
  • Willingness to support on-site during OSS / ENM outages
