Job Description
The client is looking for a number of Field Mentor’s to work a 6 month rolling contract based in South Africa (East London).
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Attend with ASP teams on sites for training and coaching purposes.
- Work on the captured GAPs by ASP Mentors during theoretical & practical training.
- Provide daily reports to ASP Manager & ASP Mentor about the progress of the ASP teams.
- Identify site readiness with ASP team (Civil Work & Power work) as part of training.
- Make sure that ASP team verified site survey data onsite.
- Make sure that team lead verified material delivered with SMR and raised up if any deviation.
- Make sure that the team is ready for EHS pre-work check and close it in a short time.
- Make sure that site installation is done according to MOPs prepared by ASP Mentor and site documentation shared by project and according to Ericsson and customer quality standards.
- Support team in on site commissioning and troubleshooting with back-office integration team.
- Make sure that team uploads all data/photos required in RSC Pre-PAT FTR session.
- Make sure that team cleared all snags or observations raised by RSC team during QA/FTR session.
- Make sure that team performed SRS and IMK/ESI test and send the logs to project team.
- Support team to manage material dismantling and packing.
- Support ASP team in customer site acceptance.
- Supervising, managing & training ASP team installations practices specifically covering, RF and Transmission fault-finding e.g., VSWR, sector swaps, tilts, replacing connectors, RF cabling, IF cabling, integration and testing on the Radio Access Network and Transmission Network.
- Perform Quality measures and Audits for teams performance & knowledge acquiring.
- Oversee and identify the possible risks that may affect H&S, workflow, quality, performance, etc, and must report all risks identified on time in the proper means of communication to emergency.
Background and Experience:
Ericsson Radio Knowledge:
- RBS 6000 Installation.
- RBS 6000 (2G/3G/LTE) script loading.
- RBS 6000 (2G/3G/LTE) alarm clearance.
- RBS 6000 (2G/3G/LTE) Fault finding.
- Transmission knowledge (preferable)
- RF installation, RF Fault Finding& RF Testing (VSWR/DTF etc.)
- Civil background and Civil Quality.
- Technical Site Surveys + TSSR.
- Site surveying and site planning.
- Telecommunications equipment installation standards.
- Basic software commissioning.
Transmission Knowledge is additional:
- Equipment, Mini link TN, 20P, 20PB, 6P series, MMU Series, Mini link 6600 series.
- MW Antenna types, and size (0.3m 0.6m, 0.9m, 1.2m and above)
- Mini link TN/66 series installation and commissioning.
- MW Mini link configurations and configuration types.
- Types of configurations (1+0, 2+0,2+2, 4+0, e.t.c)
- MW link troubleshooting skills.
- VLAN configurations.
Qualifications, experience and knowledge:
- The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in GSM Field, installation, Integration, Troubleshooting.
- NQF level 4 qualification and experience / RAN/Transmission equipment experience.
- EHS complied with & certified for field courses (Risk Assessment, Medical Fitness certificate, Basic Working at height and in case of self-driving we will need to add Defensive driving, First Aid, Fire Fighting).
- Candidate will bring his laptop for reports required and other tasks.
