Job Description

The client is looking for a Field Mentor to work in The Kingdom Of Saudi Arabia.

Job Summary:

The Field Mentor will be responsible for on-site coaching, mentoring, and supervision of ASP (Approved Service Provider) teams during the installation, commissioning, and quality assurance phases of telecom site deployments. The role ensures all activities are aligned with customer standards, with a strong emphasis on EHS compliance, performance KPIs, and continuous skills development of ASP field staff.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Attend site visits with ASP teams for training and coaching.
  • Address gaps identified by ASP Mentors during theoretical and practical training sessions.
  • Submit daily progress reports to ASP Manager and ASP Mentor regarding team performance.
  • Support ASP teams in verifying site readiness (civil and power works).
  • Ensure ASP teams verify site survey data accurately on-site.
  • Oversee material verification against SMR and escalate deviations.
  • Confirm team readiness for EHS pre-work checks and ensure timely closure.
  • Ensure installations follow Method of Procedure (MOPs), site documentation, and quality standards.
  • Assist with on-site commissioning and troubleshooting alongside the back-office integration team.
  • Ensure complete and accurate data/photo uploads for RSC Pre-PAT FTR sessions.
  • Verify closure of all RSC QA/FTR session snags or observations.
  • Confirm SRS and IMK/ESI testing is performed and logs are submitted.
  • Support dismantling and proper packing of materials.
  • Assist ASP teams during customer site acceptance processes.
  • Supervise and train ASP teams on installation practices (RF, Transmission, fault-finding, cabling, integration, testing, etc.).
  • Perform quality audits and assess team knowledge and performance.
  • Identify and report risks (H&S, quality, performance, etc.) through appropriate communication channels.
  • Ensure team compliance with KPIs: Quality (FTR/NFTR/QI), Safety (FTP/NFTP), session duration, and installation standards.

Background and Experience Required:

  • 3–5 years in GSM Field Installation, Integration, and Troubleshooting
  • Radio Knowledge:
    • RBS 6000 Installation & Configuration (2G/3G/LTE)
    • Script loading, alarm clearance, fault finding
    • RF installation & testing (VSWR/DTF)
    • Civil background with quality inspection experience
    • Site surveys, TSSR, and telecom installation standards
    • Basic software commissioning
  • Transmission Knowledge (Preferred):
    • Mini Link TN, 20P/20PB, 6P, MMU, 6600 series
    • MW antenna types and sizes (0.3m – 1.2m+)
    • Installation, commissioning & configuration (1+0, 2+2, etc.)
    • MW troubleshooting and VLAN configurations

Personal Competencies:

  • Certified in EHS (Risk Assessment, Working at Height, First Aid, Fire Fighting, Defensive Driving, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong knowledge of service delivery and change management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and report generation
  • Creative, driven, adaptable, and team-oriented
  • Strong responsiveness and willingness to learn
  • Presentation and documentation skills

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Technical Trade Certification in Electrical Engineering
  • Accredited Certification (e.g., wireman’s license, computer networking)
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in telecom field operations
  • Familiarity with RAN and Transmission equipment
  • NQF Level 4 or equivalent qualification
  • Must bring own laptop for reporting and documentation
