Position Summary

We are seeking a Field Engineer to perform on-site installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and replacement of hardware components and cabling within data center and telecommunications environments. The successful candidate will ensure the availability and reliability of IT infrastructure by performing preventive and corrective maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, replace, and troubleshoot server, storage, and network hardware components.
  • Perform replacement of faulty equipment including servers, disks, power supplies, fans, memory modules, HBAs, NICs, switches, and related hardware.
  • Install, remove, label, and organize network, fiber-optic, and power cables.
  • Perform hardware health checks and basic diagnostics.
  • Assist in rack installation, equipment mounting, and decommissioning activities.
  • Support planned maintenance activities and emergency hardware replacement tasks.
  • Coordinate with remote technical support teams during troubleshooting and maintenance activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of hardware inventory, maintenance activities, and asset movements.
  • Ensure compliance with site access, safety, and change management procedures.
  • Conduct visual inspections of data center equipment and report abnormalities.
  • Support cabling verification, connectivity testing, and basic network troubleshooting.
  • Respond to incidents and service requests within defined SLAs.

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in data center, telecommunications, or IT infrastructure support.
  • Experience handling server, storage, and network hardware.
  • Familiarity with copper and fiber-optic cabling standards and best practices.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (IP addressing, switches, routers, VLANs).
  • Ability to read rack layouts, cabling diagrams, and hardware documentation.
  • Experience using hardware diagnostic and testing tools.
  • Ability to work in data center environments and perform physical installation activities.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with HPE, Dell, Cisco, Juniper, or similar enterprise hardware.
  • Experience with SAN environments, Fibre Channel cabling, and storage systems.
  • Knowledge of data center operations.
  • Vendor certifications or technical training in hardware maintenance.
  • Experience supporting telecommunications infrastructure.
  • Experience with CNIS and NFVI solutions.
  • Experience with RED HAT OpenShift (OCP) solutions.
