Job Description

Ryan Harrington is urgently looking for an Event Controller to work a 6-month rolling contract based in the United Kingdom (Reading).


Please note: This position is based inside IR35.


Job Summary:

  • To manage the On the Day (OTD) interfaces with the delivery team in delivering site rollout, upgrades, or clusters in line with the programme plan.
  • Represent client on customer meetings and project scoping sessions to ensure correct technical scope is achieved and delivered.

Accountable for:

  • Supporting the OTD delivery controlling and in collaboration with the appropriate teams including customer project management and clients.
  • Liaising with other teams as appropriate to understand OTD delivery dependencies and develop mitigation plans to minimise the impact of issues and ensure the successful delivery of on the day events.
  • Management of the OTD communications plan ensuring all parties are aware of site delivery progress.
  • Identifying risks and deploying risk avoidance strategies and mitigation actions as appropriate associated with appropriate escalation to Delivery Leads or Project Management where appropriate. Daily plan execution and reporting on success/failures, including client liaison.
  • Cradle to grave ownership of site whilst in upgrade/rollout phase.

Role Requirements:

  • Management of site by site delivery and capture of associated information ensuring on the day activities are successfully completed.
  • Utilisation of telecommunication technical knowledge to ensure that sites are progressing in accordance with OTD programme of works.
  • Identifying risks and deploying risk avoidance strategies and mitigation actions as appropriate associated in agreement with current scope of works. Definition of additional costs where not in accordance with scope.
  • The delivery of required reports as requested by the customer or the delivery team through database tool set.
  • Ensure ASP teams deliver the required site works and associated handover documentation in line with the agreed KPI’s and SLA’s, approval/rejection as appropriate.
  • Managing the collective view of dependencies and initiating extra activities or corrective action where required, escalating as necessary to the Delivery Lead or Project Manager.
  • Managing the or client appointed ASP’s in their daily works, escalating issues where necessary to the Delivery Lead, Project Manager or client as required.
  • Produce a revisit plan, in parallel with the daily event plan, to ensure incomplete or failed sites are reworked and completed.
  • Liaise with the front office team to ensure site integrations occur on time.
  • Managing the exceptions, issues, conflicts, and problems on a day-to-day basis
  • Add input to event review reporting and lessons learnt reporting
  • To attend gating meetings in support of the joint delivery plan
  • To agree and publicise the daily/weekly event plan
  • Review and approve/reject pre-installation visit activities with the appointed ASP.
  • Accountability for resolution of service affecting trouble tickets within SLA’s and regular updates.
