Job Description

Responsibilities

The ENM/ENIQ Engineer is assigned to work with troubleshooting (fault/configuration/performance measurements setup/performance) of mobile network elements. The engineer handles network and equipment problems escalated from various teams like Surveillance, MTAC, Optimization, Performance, and VAS. It is the responsibility of the ENM/ENIQ Engineer to resolve and correct service and network issues according to agreed SLA standards, detect and highlight network deficiencies, and proactively identify potential degradations.

  • System problems are to be identified and escalated to the customer system support unit.
  • Maintain control over software and hardware (SW/HW) systems.
  • Contribute to the definition and improvement of procedures and routines within the department/group.
  • Take full responsibility for any changes introduced to the ENM/ENIQ systems after project handover or to any changes done to methods, processes, or procedures, whether internal or external.
  • Ensure the performance of ENM/ENIQ systems is maintained at the highest possible level by addressing problems or degradations promptly and monitoring relevant performance parameters.
  • Provide weekly reports to the ENM/ENIQ Team Leader/Manager and collaborate with other team members.
  • Attend technical meetings responsible for ENM/ENIQ activities or other customer-related meetings.
  • Continuously improve MOPs used within the department/group.

Duties and Activities

  • 2nd Level operation and maintenance.
  • Support different project teams during their activities.
  • Handle ITSM trouble tickets (TTs).
  • Define and update maintenance routines.
  • Troubleshoot performance report issues.
  • Prepare and implement software configuration changes as needed.
  • Implement remedies suggested by the customer support team for CSR handling.
  • Open hardware TTs with different vendors (HP, Evernex) and follow up until resolved.
  • Participate in different POCs and trials for various projects.
  • Perform backups for both ENM/ENIQ systems.

Basic Skills

  • Good knowledge in GSM/WCDMA/LTE/5G.
  • Experience in Linux OS system administration.
  • Experience in database administration.
  • Experience in Unix shell scripting.
  • Python programming skills.
  • Basic IP networking knowledge.
  • HP hardware knowledge.
  • Systems integration knowledge.
  • Awareness of virtualization concepts.
  • Experience handling O&M virtual machines tasks.

Technical Competences

  • Strong knowledge in network management systems like OSS-RC, ENM, ENIQ, SO-EM.
  • Excellent operating system handling and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent database handling and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent virtualization handling and troubleshooting skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of hardware/software functionalities and basic troubleshooting.
  • Excellent knowledge of network topology.
  • Basic knowledge of core network nodes (MSC/GMSC/STP/HLR).
  • Basic knowledge of RAN nodes (BSC/RNC/RBS/eNodeB/GnodeB).
  • Basic knowledge of networking and routing concepts.
  • Familiarity with performance reports.
  • Experience in CSR handling.
  • Basic knowledge of hardware and software upgrades.
  • Knowledge of all network elements and their main characteristics.
  • Good knowledge of network management system functionalities (fault, performance, configuration).
  • Emergency handling.
  • Good knowledge of network implementation and integration processes.
