Job Description
Job Summary
The EMM BO Engineer is responsible for troubleshooting, configuration, traffic measurement, and performance management within the SDF network. The role involves handling network and equipment issues escalated from surveillance teams, ensuring timely resolution of service and network problems, and proactively identifying potential performance degradations.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, configure, and monitor EMM OLM / FE systems within the network.
- Act on network and equipment issues escalated from surveillance teams.
- Resolve service and network problems within agreed timelines and standards.
- Identify system issues and escalate them to relevant support units.
- Maintain control over software and hardware status.
- Monitor and analyze performance parameters, highlighting any degradations.
- Detect network deficiencies and anticipate future performance issues.
- Take full responsibility for network changes, including processes and procedures.
- Contribute to the creation and improvement of operational procedures and routines.
- Participate in technical meetings and support team activities.
Duties and Activities
- Perform 2nd Level Operations and Restoration.
- Handle Trouble Reports and Change Requests.
- Create and update maintenance routines.
- Generate and analyze performance reports.
- Track change requests and ensure proper system and functional testing.
- Investigate network disturbances and service issues.
- Analyze network performance and traffic patterns.
Basic Skills
- Good knowledge of GSM networks.
- Experience in Linux system administration.
- Experience with Oracle database administration.
- Proficiency in Unix shell scripting.
- Basic programming skills (preferred).
- Knowledge of IP networking.
- Understanding of Linux hardware.
- System integration knowledge.
- Familiarity with REST APIs, web services, SMPP, and Diameter protocols.
- Ability to troubleshoot LAN traces (HTTP, SMPP, Diameter).
- Basic knowledge of Core Java.
- Understanding of clustering and standalone deployments.
- Familiarity with load balancer administration.

- Proficiency in SQL for reporting and troubleshooting.
- Strong Linux administration skills.
- Experience with cluster management (e.g., Veritas).
- Understanding of virtualization and cloud architectures.
- Ability to interpret network diagrams and protocol traces.
- Knowledge of tools such as SOAP UI.
- Understanding of DNS and FQDN concepts.
- Strong knowledge of network topology and traffic behavior.
- Basic understanding of load balancing and web service architecture.
- Experience in network implementation and integration processes.
- Understanding of project lifecycle phases (implementation, handover, closure).
- Ability to analyze performance reports effectively.
