Data Engineer/Business Analyst

The client is looking for a Data Engineer/Business Analyst to work Full-Time in Dubai, UAE.

Job Purpose:

The Data Engineer/Business Analyst will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining robust data pipelines, as well as analyzing business processes and providing actionable insights to support strategic decision-making. This role bridges the gap between data infrastructure and business intelligence, ensuring data is accurate, accessible, and effectively used across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Engineering:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes.
• Work with structured and unstructured data from multiple sources.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency across platforms.
• Optimize and maintain databases, data warehouses, and data lakes.
• Collaborate with IT and analytics teams to implement data solutions.

Business Analysis:

• Gather, document, and analyze business requirements from stakeholders.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications for data solutions.
• Develop reports, dashboards, and visualizations to support decision-making.
• Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in data to provide actionable insights.
• Support business teams in implementing data-driven solutions.

General / Collaborative:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve data processes and analytics capabilities.
• Ensure compliance with data privacy, security, and governance policies.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, tools, and best practices in data engineering and analytics.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Statistics, or related field.
• Master’s degree is a plus.

Experience:

• 3+ years of experience in data engineering, business analysis, or related roles.
• Proven experience with data modeling, ETL processes, and database management.
• Experience in analyzing business processes and generating actionable insights.

Technical Skills:

• SQL and relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle).
• Data warehouse solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
• ETL tools (e.g., Talend, Informatica, Apache Airflow).
• Programming skills in Python, R, or Java.
• BI and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
