Job Description

The client is looking for a Core Field Engineer to work Full-Time in the KSA.

Purpose of the Role:

This role is responsible for the coordination, management, and execution of Field Services activities in support of other operational and engineering functions that require on-site work. The objective is to ensure services remain continuously available and meet performance levels as per internal Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
The role primarily involves on-site activities and requires adherence to Project OHS requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute corrective maintenance activities.
  • Manage site maintenance and report facility failures that may pose health or safety risks.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, maintain checklists, and coordinate scheduling.
  • Conduct site acceptance activities and manage related checklists as per scope.
  • Coordinate spare parts logistics and ensure updates to the inventory database.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Degree in Telecommunications or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in similar roles.

Technical Competencies:

  • Knowledge of multi-vendor telecommunications equipment and service networks.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware-related issues (e.g., APZ21260, APG).
  • Experience with platforms/tools such as CELLO, MO-Shell, FTP, Telnet, Linux.
  • Experience with Dell and Juniper switches preferred.
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes, Wireshark, AWS or Cloud platforms is an advantage.
  • Ability to resolve 1st & 2nd level HW O&M alarms (e.g., CUDB, MSC-BC, MGW, RNC, HSS, HLR-FE).
  • Experience applying OPIs for board replacements across various nodes.
  • Strong experience in troubleshooting optical fiber issues (loop testing, cleaning, power testing using VFL and power meter).
  • Familiarity with PS Core HW activities.
  • Knowledge of HRV and redundancy testing for core telecom nodes.
  • On-site support during OSS/ENM outages.
