Cloud Infra OPS – Network SDN IT Network & Storage SDS
Job Description
JOB PURPOSE
• Manage and operate the Software Defined Networking (SDN) and Software Defined Storage (SDS) infrastructure supporting enterprise BSS applications.
• Ensure availability, performance, and security of IT network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, Firewall, Load Balancer) and software-defined storage layers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Administer SDN infrastructure: enterprise SDN, network virtualization, or open-source SDN environments supporting BSS workloads.
• Manage IT network infrastructure: LAN switching, WAN routing, firewall, and load balancers.
• Administer Software Defined Storage (SDS): distributed storage, software-defined storage, or equivalent platforms.
• Monitor network and storage performance, availability, and capacity using monitoring tools.
• Configure and manage VLANs, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), and network segmentation.
• Perform network security policy management: firewall rules, ACLs, NAT, and VPN configurations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve L2 network and storage incidents including latency, packet loss, and storage I/O issues.
• Perform network and storage capacity planning and recommend upgrades.
• Support DR and failover testing for network and storage components.
• Maintain accurate network topology diagrams and storage configuration documentation.
• Coordinate with L3/vendors for complex issue resolution and firmware updates.
• Execute network and storage changes per Change Management process.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
• 5–8 years of experience in IT network and storage administration.
• Strong knowledge of SDN platforms: enterprise SDN, network virtualization, or equivalent.
• Experience with enterprise network equipment from major networking vendors.
• Experience with SDS platforms: distributed storage, software-defined storage, or equivalent.
• Networking certifications: CCNP or equivalent preferred.
• Knowledge of network security: firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN, and network segmentation.
• Familiarity with storage protocols: FC, iSCSI, NFS, S3.
• Understanding of telco/BSS network requirements and traffic patterns.
• English skills – oral and written.
TECHNICAL SKILLS – SYSTEM & PLATFORM COVERAGE
• RHOS/Virtualization – SDN and SDS components within the virtualization platform – OpenStack Neutron (networking) and Cinder/Manila (storage) administration underpinning all BSS application workload connectivity and data storage.
• Monitoring – Enterprise Monitoring and Centralized Logging – Network performance metrics (bandwidth, latency, packet loss) and storage I/O metrics ingested into the centralized monitoring and logging platform; network alerts managed via monitoring stack.
• ITSM – IT Service Management – Change management for network topology changes, firewall rule updates, VLAN configurations, and storage provisioning; incident management for network/storage faults.
• Active Directory – Network access authentication integration – AD-integrated network device management and DNS/DHCP services supporting BSS components.
• Ansible – Network configuration automation – Ansible playbooks for switch/router configuration, VLAN management, and storage provisioning tasks.
• IAM/PAM/Security Tools – Network device privileged access management – Firewall policy governance; network security compliance enforcement.
• Backup/Restore – Storage-level data protection – NAS backup and SAN snapshot integration with enterprise backup and recovery solutions for BSS application data.
EDUCATION
• University degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or equivalent. CCNP or relevant certification preferred.
