The client is looking for a Business Controller to work in Oman.
Overview:
The client is seeking a dynamic and collaborative individual to join their Systems Integration International Finance team. A core part of the role is specifically accountable for and focused on overseeing and coordinating the project financials on critical, highly visible deployment projects in Oman. This is a business-critical role that will directly support the Oman project team, as well as the Systems Integration leadership team for International.
Job Description:
- Lead the rolling forecast (“CV”) process for Oman, covering revenue, margin, and cash. This includes preparation, review and interlock with key stakeholders, providing insights, and ensuring timely submission. The role involves managing expectations, maintaining accuracy, and identifying risks/opportunities while driving ownership and mitigation strategies by the project team.
- Control and forecast other key project metrics, such as the quarterly POC Asset/Liability position and billing status.
- Manage risk and control by evaluating, modelling, and providing early warning of opportunities and risks, with due consideration of mitigation strategies.
- Lead bi-weekly Outlook review calls, presenting regular health checks on project financials to senior leadership.
- Support business reviews for Oman and Emerging Technologies:
- Quarterly Project Review (QPR) – assist the local project team in preparedness, manage key messages, and report financial outcomes such as project budget adjustments.
- Operations Reviews – prepare and periodically update executive-level project and business summaries for leadership reviews.
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed.
- Ensure compliance and audits in collaboration with the Project Controlling team (Finance Operations Centre, Krakow) and local teams. Maintain required certifications and liaise with audit partners in Oman.
- Support project teams and customers by:
- Partnering with project teams and FOC to develop and monitor project budgets, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Monitoring project expenditures, analysing cost trends, and identifying areas for cost-saving opportunities or risks.
- Coordinating with project teams to ensure accurate and timely submission of financial data, including forecasts, budget updates, and cost allocations.
- Engaging directly with customers when required to mutually improve outcomes.
- Coordinate the Long Range Plan (LRP) process for Oman, focusing on revenue, margin, and cash as part of the annual Revenue CV cycle.
Basic Requirements:
- University degree preferred.
- Accounting certification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) required.
- 8+ years of experience in Finance/Accounting roles with a clear career progression, preferably in a complex, matrixed organisation.
- Experience in Finance Project Controlling or Business Partnering is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate inclusively across functions and engage with senior stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to simplify large volumes of data and communicate key messages effectively.
- Strong financial modelling skills.
- Resilient, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset, with the ability to streamline processes and implement improvements.
- Knowledge of local accounting practices and US GAAP standards.
- Proficiency in MS Office; experience with Essbase and GSheet is advantageous.
