Job Description
Job Summary
The Back office SDF Engineer is responsible for troubleshooting configuration issues and implementing new services within the SDF network. The role involves handling network and system issues escalated from surveillance teams, ensuring timely resolution of service problems, and supporting system performance and stability through effective configuration and testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot configuration-related issues and implement new service configurations.
- Configure products using the service catalog platform.
- Execute system integration and migration activities.
- Prepare and perform system, module, and acceptance testing.
- Conduct post-implementation testing and validation.
- Ensure end-to-end technical understanding of systems and services.
- Perform shell scripting and basic coding tasks.
- Identify system issues and escalate to relevant support teams.
- Drive continuous improvements in processes and procedures.
- Take ownership of all configuration changes and their impact on systems.
- Resolve service and network issues within agreed timelines and standards.
- Participate in technical meetings and support team activities.
- Contribute to documentation and process enhancements.
Duties and Activities
- Perform 2nd Level Operations and Restoration.
- Handle Trouble Reports and Change Requests.
- Execute product configuration activities.
- Support integration and migration tasks.
- Prepare and execute system, module, and acceptance tests.
- Track change requests and ensure proper testing in line with design.
- Investigate system disturbances and service issues.
- Analyze system performance and traffic patterns.
- Provide 24/7 support for critical network issues.
- Participate in shift work, including night shifts and special event support.
Basic Skills
- Experience in Linux system administration.
- Proficiency in SQL queries.
- Experience with Oracle database administration.
- Strong Unix shell scripting skills.
- Basic programming knowledge (preferred).
- Understanding of IP networking.
- System integration knowledge.
- Familiarity with REST APIs and web services.
- Hands-on experience with application servers (e.g., JBoss) and databases.
- Basic knowledge of Core Java.
- Familiarity with load balancer concepts and administration.

- Experience in capturing and analyzing system/network traces.
- Familiarity with tools such as SOAP UI.
- Understanding of DNS and FQDN concepts.
- Strong knowledge of system architecture, hardware/software, and troubleshooting.
- Good understanding of web services architecture.
- Basic knowledge of load balancing concepts.
- Ability to analyze performance reports.
- Experience in network implementation and integration processes.
- Understanding of project lifecycle phases (implementation, handover, closure).
