Back Office IN Engineer

Responsibilities

The IN Engineer is assigned to work with troubleshooting, configuration, traffic measurements, and performance of the IN network. The engineer handles network and equipment problems escalated from the surveillance function. It is the responsibility of the IN Engineer to resolve service and network issues according to agreed timing and standards, detect and highlight network deficiencies, and proactively identify potential degradations.

• System problems are to be identified and escalated to the corresponding system support units.
• Maintain control over software and hardware (SW/HW) systems.
• Contribute to the creation and improvement of procedures and routines within the department/group.
• Take full responsibility for any changes introduced to the network or any changes to methods, processes, or procedures, whether internal or external.
• Ensure network performance is maintained at the highest possible level by handling problems and degradations swiftly, and monitoring and interpreting relevant performance parameters.
• Attend technical meetings responsible for IN team activities.
• Continuously improve procedures and routines within the department/group.

Duties and Activities

• 2nd Level restoration.
• Trouble report handling.
• Change request handling.
• Create and update maintenance routines.
• Create and analyze performance reports.
• Prepare and implement software, hardware, and configuration data changes.
• Design and implement tariff, service class, etc.
• Investigate disturbances.

Basic Skills

• Good knowledge in GSM/WCDMA.
• Experience in Linux OS system administration.
• Experience in database administration (Oracle).
• Experience in Unix shell scripting.
• Programming skills.
• IP networking knowledge.
• Linux hardware knowledge.
• Systems integration knowledge.
