Tangent International are currently searching for a Technical Architect with experience in the Payment Card Industry to join an existing project. 

Essential skills and experience - 

  • Evidence of experience in integrating with one or more Payment Service Provider (PSP) to handle card payments (ecommerce and MOTO)
  • Extensive understanding of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), and experience of driving compliance against the standard, across all domains
  • Evidence of the ability to communicate complex technical concepts and ensure knowledge transfer to in-house development teams
  • Evidence of experience working on projects using open source technology within cloud hosted/virtualised environments; AWS preferred
  • Evidence of knowledge of the Java programming language to Java 8.
  • Evidence of experience of integrating with external systems using REST and SOAP
  • Knowledge of relational and non-relational database systems, for example PostgreSQL/MongoDB
  • Experience presenting work at user groups and agile ceremonies communicating technical concepts to a non-technical audience
  • Evidence of experience working as part of an agile software delivery team, embracing collaborative working practices and contributing to a shared team goal
  • Evidence of supporting enablement of in-house development capabilities, engaging with staff and creating an environment of knowledge sharing
  • Ability to assess technical capabilities of potential Payment Service Providers, as well as their associated products, and make a recommendation based on best fit for the Agency’s requirements
  • Ability to provide Subject Matter Expertise in the area of PCI DSS compliance requirements


Nice to have skill and experience - 

  • Awareness of PSD2 and other developments in the payments industry e.g. the New Payments Architecture
  • Awareness of EU GDPR
  • Understanding of payment technologies other than card payments e.g. Digital Wallets, Direct Debit, BACS
