Senior Web Developer

My client is looking for an enthusiastic Senior PHP developer to join their team in London which builds the core app platform.

You will work as part of a talented team responsible for innovation with the freedom to research and implement solutions using cutting-edge technologies. Spending your time split between working with PHP (Symfony2, PhalconPHP). Prior experience with these technologies would be ideal, but will also consider candidates with a strong programming background that want a new challenge.

  • You know how how to create high quality, scalable and secure OO PHP5/PHP7 applications
  • You have good understanding of the SOLID coding principles
  • You are experienced with modern coding, testing, debugging and automation techniques (PHPUnit, Behat/Gherkin / BDD, TDD)
  • You are able to dig deep into business requirements and having a sense of ownership over your work
  • Experienced developing database driven applications and RESTful web APIs
  • Excellent knowledge of MySql
  • Experienced with 1+ MVC framework (Symfony2 ideal, PhalconPHP, or Laravel)
  • Experienced with Git, and the Atlassian suite (Jira)
  • Knowledge of Linux command lines and bash
  • Knowledge of tools such as Vagrant and Docker is beneficial
  • Familiarity with CI/CD/DevOps tools like Ansible, Chef, Jenkins, Atlassian Bamboo

  • Has a keen interest in development and is capable of being a technical lead
  • Is looking to get stuck into a range of exciting new projects
  • Is comfortable with Dev-Ops work
  • Has an open mind when it comes to introducing new technologies
  • Is well organised and able to report on progress concisely
  • Has the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Is comfortable with teaching and explaining code to others
  • Is self-motivated
