Sales Executive - Essex

My client, an international freight forwarding company are looking for experienced Sales Executive's to join their talented team.

As a driven and ambitious individual you will bring an upbeat, positive and friendly attitude to sales and, most importantly, be a creative business developer and dedicated deal closer.  You should be comfortable creating and growing a pipeline of new business, either from cold or warm leads.  Living and breathing company brand, you will act as an ambassador for the organisation. 


  • Building a sales pipeline, tracking and managing the complete sales process end to end, from opportunity qualification to closure of new business
  • Communicating with in/outbound leads via multiple channels (phone, email and social media)
  • Collaborating closely with the members of the inside sales team on finding ways to improve team performance and exceed sales targets
  • Develop monthly, quarterly, and annual sales plan and strategies that will guarantee achievement of target
  • Recording sales and order information to assist the business expansionGive prompt reports on crucial issues to direct senior, suggest answers where obtainable
  • Listening to customer requirements and presenting appropriately to make a sale
  • Acting as a contact between a company and its existing and potential markets
  • Negotiating the terms of an agreement and closing sales
  • Gathering market and customer information
  • Negotiating on price, costs, delivery and specifications with buyers and managers
  • Challenging any objections with a view to getting the customer to buy
  • Advising on forthcoming service developments and discussing special promotions
  • Reviewing your sales performance to meet or exceed the monetary/volume targets set
  • Securing new business to meet or exceed the monetary/volume target set
  • Meeting or exceeding the monthly level of customer visits/calls as set by management
  • Gaining a clear understanding of customers' businesses and requirements
  • Making accurate, rapid cost calculations and providing customers with quotations
  • Feeding future buying trends back to the company
  • Any ad-hoc assignments as requested by management

The successful candidate: 

  • Can demonstrate outstanding performance within a previous sales role
  • Strong communication skills with strong business related knowledge
  • The ability and desire to sell with a positive, confident and determined approach
  • Highly self-motivated and ambitious in achieving goals
  • Resilience and the ability to cope with rejection
  • The capability to flourish in a competitive environment
  • Able to work both in a team and also perform independently
  • Should be capable of thriving in the competitive markets
  • Previous experience in facing customers
  • Background in Freight Forwarding/Shipping/Logistics 
  • Proficient communicator; verbal and written
  • Organisation skills
