Job Description

  • Reporting to the Programme Director, the Deployment Manager will be responsibility for directing and motivating a number of multidisciplinary rollout teams who will be responsible for the full turnkey deployment of the national network.
  • Will provide the overall leadership and project management for the network deployment of all network elements in the mobile and fixed networks including site acquisition, civil work, installation, vendor management of all network elements.
  • The ability to understand complex rollout slippage, suggest alternative solutions to bring implementation programme back on track, as well as influencing direction to ensure deliverables are meet as per implementation plan.
  • Must have the ability to control resources and costs against the project budget.
  • Ensure that change control procedures are actively used to assess and manage the impact of proposed changes to the project on costs, timescales and scope.
  • Plan and organize information flow and communication within the Rollout Teams to ensure coordination and clear understanding about the share of responsibilities.
  • Manage identified risk and what actions have been and/or will be taken to minimize/eliminate them. The role requires the ability to concisely and accurately communicate and manage requirements internally and externally meeting customer expectations.

Basic Requirements

  • More than five years proven experience in rolling out national networks, with Telecom or Public Safety technology in Oman
  • Leader with proven ability to develop, mentor and motivate teams.
  • Must be an analytical and conceptual thinker.
  • Must be experienced in managing project through Rollout and Test, along with strong customer facing skills within the Telecoms sector.
  • Experience of delivering network rollouts in Oman is a must.
  • Proven track record on Quality and Acceptance.
  • Excellent customer management and interpersonal skills.
  • Must manage all overall elements in the project implementation including but not limited to site acquisition, supervision of subcontractors, management of civil work, installation, vendor management, contract handling, site inspection and acceptance, quality control, health and safety, commissioning.
  • Capable of Sub Contractor-level negotiations and executing commercial agreements at all level.
  • Experience in working within an International and cross cultural environment.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task, flexibility and comfort in fast-changing and ambiguous environments.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of an organization both the internally and externally.
  • Ability to work with the Customer / End users at both a regional and national level.
