Job Description
The product manager is responsible for the strategy, product vision, release definition, planning, scheduling, delivery and sun setting of all Analytics products. The product manager is primarily focused on consolidating input across all sources (market, customers, sales and business development) for new solutions and major functionality enhancements of existing solutions to address customer segment needs.
The product manager works closely with the global sales, marketing, engineering teams, and solution delivery teams, and supports customer related activities such as requests for information or quotation, bid and roadmap presentations, and proof of concepts.
Job Expectations:
Work closely with development teams and third party vendors to create and launch Analytics solutions
Provide analytics platform subject matter expertise to inform platform positioning and key value propositions through internal communication channels
Collaborate with external vendors as needed on aligning feature roadmap and development
Engage directly with data engineering via an Agile development process and build scalable, products that can be adjusted quickly based on emerging opportunities or business needs
Define and document user personas, user scenarios, use case definitions, and detailed product requirements to drive the development and release of platform capabilities
Manage and lead the productization process, collaborating across the organization to bring new analytics offers to market
Author and maintain the product roadmap, and provide training and sales enablement tools for global sales teams
Collaborate with marketing on product messaging, positioning, and collateral
Work with sales and marketing teams to obtain product market share and develop sales strategies
Support pre- and post-sales activities (customer calls and meetings, proof of concepts, bids) where appropriate
Provide analysis of market & trend data, and make recommendations concerning product innovation strategy
Manage high priority projects to completion while leading product launch schedules for the business
Provide support at trade shows and customer facing events as needed
Train the global sales and technical pre-sales teams on new professional service offers
Assist business development with inputs for proposal responses and provide customer facing support as needed
Required Experience and Knowledge:
Strong working knowledge of Elasticsearch, Log stash, and Kibana (ELK) technologies
Understanding of technical architecture of complex and highly scalable analytics platforms
Well versed in telecommunications protocols and general knowledge of router and firewall functionality on a network
Ability to articulate value propositions for advanced analytics use cases
Quick learner with strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, logical analysis and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple work streams in parallel to achieve targeted release dates
Demonstrated ability to effectively represent the company to external audiences
Strong commercial acumen in financial analysis, strategic planning, product and project management
Preference given to candidates with technical acumen in networks, and database & analytics experience
Experience:
3-5 years experience as a Product Owner (PO)/Product Manager (PM), particularly for data and analytics software products
2-3 years experience working with Elasticsearch, Log stash, and Kibana (ELK) technologies
5+ years experience in the telecommunications industry, preferably working with or for Tier 1 carriers
Experience capturing business requirements and translating those requirements to user stories
Experience working in the Agile software development framework as a PO or PM
Other Requirements:
Travel: must be able to travel (US and other countries), maintain a current passport, and have a driver’s license
English: fluent in written and professional oral communication (internally and with customers)
Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in a quantitative or business discipline (business administration, management information systems, computer science, engineering, statistics or a related field)
