Tangent begin working with REACH
One of the goals of our Corporate Social Responsibility program is to work with community projects that help develop the young and vulnerable in our society. We seek out these projects and hope that we can use some of our skills, and/or resources to make a difference where it really counts.
Reach are a newly formed SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) Independent school in Essex who are actively seeking to work with young people who may otherwise have no access to formal education. These young people have often been excluded from the mainstream and if it weren't for Reach they would most likely have had nowhere to turn.
The Reach Vision is to develop a provision that enables children to flourish whilst providing them with opportunity in a safe and structured environment to deal with their social and emotional difficulties.
In the last month, Tangent has refurbished, prepped and provided a large number of recently decommissioned PC's to Reach. These machines will help kick start their IT classrooms, and we are planning to provide more in the future. Our CSR coordinator Eleana Nicholls is also working with Reach to explore other ways in which we might provide support and encouragement to them.
We certainly hope this is the start of an ongoing and flourishing association with this brilliant educational team.
